Join us, and be a part of shaping the future of this region. **About the role** We are looking for our next Media Manager to join us and lead our Media Section. In this role, you will lead a team to deliver a strategic response to positively influence the awareness and reputation of Ipswich City Council, and engagement with residents of our City. Some of your key responsibilities would include: - Enhance Council’s standing in the community and beyond - Improve broad public awareness, pride and engagement - Cultivate and manage a network of productive media relationships - Develop content, utilise distribution channels and monitor and measure outcomes at a best-practice standard for Australian local government authorities - Maintain clear and relevant media policies and procedures in a rapidly evolving and highly challenging environment - Provide effective media, reputation and issue management services to Council and elected representatives **About you** To be successful in this role you will ideally have: - An excellent fit with our values of communication, collaboration, integrity, efficiency and leadership - Tertiary qualifications in Communications, Journalism, Media, Publicity, or related extensive government/corporate/agency media and communication - Strong professional experience in media, including delivering successful portfolios and campaigns - A management and leadership approach that aligns with our values, and promotes a positive employee experience - Well-developed communication skills, with a proven ability to effectively manage diverse stakeholder relationships and influence outcomes - Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making, with the ability and initiative to drive change and projects from concept to conclusion - Current Queensland "C" class drivers licence **What's on offer?** This is a permanent full-time Level 8 position with an attractive salary package of $117,193 to $132,236 plus up to 12.25% super. - Joining Council as a key member of a team that is passionate and dedicated to building a positive, inclusive and constructive workplace culture - Genuine demonstrated commitment to flexible work including working from home options - When in the office, enjoy working from our new location at 1 Nicholas Street, Ipswich in the heart of the newly revitalised Ipswich CBD - Four (4) weeks annual leave with 17.5% loading - Ongoing learning and development and career opportunities - 15 days personal (sick and carers) leave annually - A range of progressive health and wellbeing services If you feel you have the right skills for the role, you align with our values and are passionate about enhancing the quality of life for the Ipswich community, then this could be the role for you. **How to Apply** Please submit: - a cover letter of no more than 2 pages describing how and why your skills and experience will assist Council to achieve the results required for this role - a resume of no more than 4 pages Successful applicants must be eligible to work in Australia and agree to provide information for pre-employment checks, if required for the position (which may include police record checks).
