**About the role**
We are looking for our next Media Manager to join us and lead our Media Section. In this role, you will lead a team to deliver a strategic response to positively influence the awareness and reputation of Ipswich City Council, and engagement with residents of our City.
Some of your key responsibilities would include:

- Enhance Council’s standing in the community and beyond
- Improve broad public awareness, pride and engagement
- Cultivate and manage a network of productive media relationships
- Develop content, utilise distribution channels and monitor and measure outcomes at a best-practice standard for Australian local government authorities
- Maintain clear and relevant media policies and procedures in a rapidly evolving and highly challenging environment
- Provide effective media, reputation and issue management services to Council and elected representatives

**About you**
To be successful in this role you will ideally have:

- An excellent fit with our values of communication, collaboration, integrity, efficiency and leadership
- Tertiary qualifications in Communications, Journalism, Media, Publicity, or related extensive government/corporate/agency media and communication
- Strong professional experience in media, including delivering successful portfolios and campaigns
- A management and leadership approach that aligns with our values, and promotes a positive employee experience
- Well-developed communication skills, with a proven ability to effectively manage diverse stakeholder relationships and influence outcomes
- Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making, with the ability and initiative to drive change and projects from concept to conclusion
- Current Queensland "C" class drivers licence

This is a permanent full-time Level 8 position with an attractive salary package of $117,193 to $132,236 plus up to 12.25% super.
