**The role**:
As we enter the next phase of our transformation you will be taking on this crucial role to lead the marketing and communications for Whitehorse City Council. As Manager of a broad team, you will define the strategic development and implementation of marcomms across a variety channels including media, website, social media and print ensuring the strategic direction and transformation agenda of the council are delivered.

Reporting to the Director of Corporate Services, you will also be part of the Senior Management Team. And in this pivotal function you will liaise closely with the ELT and councillors to provide high level strategic and operational advice and provision for key media messaging on the council’s behalf.

To succeed in this role as Manager Strategic Marketing and Communications you will have a service driven change management focus with key deliverables.

**About you**:
You are tertiary qualified in Communications, Public Relations or another relevant discipline or you will bring relevant demonstratable senior level experience across strategic marketing and communications. Additionally, you have a proven track record establishing media networks and can bring a strong applied understanding of media operations in support of community outcomes.

Your breadth of deep expertise also covers multiple marketing disciplines from creative design, digital and social marketing. Your exposure to operating in this type of role with organisations going through significant change and/or transformation will set you apart along with your political astuteness and ability to gauge differing opinions and still facilitate collaboration to achieve organisational objectives.

As an experienced and passionate people leader with a proven ability to positively influence and engage your team, employees and stakeholders you have a track record of successfully leading teams through significant transformational change.
