
Marketing & Communication Manager

Role purpose:
The Marketing & Communication Manager will be an experienced and creative professional, with considerable knowledge and experience in the development and delivery of marketing, communication and community awareness initiatives. This role is responsible for owning the organisation's marketing plan, setting priorities, and driving measurable results. This role provides strategic direction across campaigns and communications, acts as the final approver for English copy, and ensures alignment with business development goals.
What we are looking for:
1. Strategic & Planning
- Oversee the development, implementation and evaluation of the AVWA brand and marketing strategy.
- Develop and deliver quarterly marketing and communications plans, incorporating both brand and project-specific initiatives.
- Define and track KPIs to measure marketing performance, ROI, and impact.
- Establish and maintain an approval matrix for marketing and communications activities to streamline processes.
- Align marketing strategy with business development and organisational goals.
2. Campaigns & Channels
- Design and oversee communication channel and campaign strategies (digital, print, events, PR, social media, etc.) aligned to organisational goals.
- Provide final approval for campaign concepts, English-language copy, and channel choices.
- Monitor campaign execution and provide post-campaign and post-event ROI analysis.
3. Leadership & Team Management
- Chair triage/Work-in-Progress (WIP) meetings.
- Coordinate content and graphic production.
- Prioritise briefs and allocate resources effectively.
- Provide coaching, guidance, and feedback to the marketing and communications team.
- Foster a high-performance culture with a focus on creativity, accountability, and results.
4. Stakeholder Management & Communications
- Lead and manage internal and external stakeholder communications, ensuring alignment and consistency with then brand strategy.
- Work closely with senior leadership, project teams, and external partners to ensure messaging supports organisational objectives.
- Ensure close alignment with Business Development to support revenue and growth.
- Develop and implement strategic communication and marketing plan (both internal and external) for key projects.
- Act as a key liaison with business development to ensure marketing activities directly support growth opportunities.
5. Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Chair triage/WIP meetings to ensure smooth workflow management.
- Review and prioritise incoming briefs to maximise impact.
- Coach and mentor the marketing team to deliver high-quality production.
- Provide final sign-off on English-language copy to maintain brand consistency and quality.
- Approve campaign and channel choices to ensure strategic alignment.
The above list is not exhaustive and the role may change to meet the overall objectives of AVWA. Any other relevant duties as reasonably required by the management.
Who you are:
Essential:
- Demonstrated experience in leading social marketing campaigns (community awareness/behaviour) and/or experience with community engagement methodologies.
- Highly developed strategic marketing, communications, and project management skills
- Proven track record in successful delivery and evaluation of campaigns.
- Demonstrated experience in developing successful marketing and communication strategies.
- Proven ability to lead and effectively manage the performance, output and development of direct reports.
- Proven track record in building and managing relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders including senior executives.
- Excellent command of English copywriting and editing; able to ensure clarity, tone, and brand consistency.
Desirable:
- Tertiary qualification in marketing, communications, media or related field.
- Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
- Excellent communication and copywriting skills in English.
- Bilingual skills (Vietnamese highly desirable).
