
Strategic Marketing Manager

We are seeking a Strategic Marketing Manager to lead the development and execution of marketing strategies that elevate our brand presence and drive client acquisition in the Public Practice Tax sector. This role is ideal for a strategic thinker with deep understanding of professional services marketing, particularly within accounting, tax advisory, and compliance environments.
Key Responsibilities
Marketing Strategy & Planning
Develop and implement marketing strategies aligned with business goals and regulatory cycles in the tax industry.
Identify market trends, client needs, and competitive positioning to inform strategic direction.
Collaborate with Partners and Leaders to align marketing initiatives with service offerings and client segments.
Tailor marketing strategies for different client profiles.
Develop messaging that resonates with target segments, such as specific industries.
Develop referral programs and nurture existing client relationships to drive word-of-mouth growth.
Use marketing to reinforce client satisfaction.
Own the marketing calendar across product launches, campaigns, and seasonal promotions.
Lead and support a small marketing team to deliver end-to-end marketing projects from concept through to execution and evaluation.
Leverage data analytics, SEO/SEM, and social media.
Explore new technologies (AI, automation, CRM platforms) and support digital transformation initiatives.
Make data-driven decisions for future strategies.
Campaign & Content Management
Lead targeted campaigns focused on tax compliance, advisory services, and industry-specific solutions.
Oversee creation of thought leadership content, including newsletters, webinars, and whitepapers tailored to SME clients and high-net-worth individuals.
Manage digital channels (website, LinkedIn, email marketing) to ensure consistent messaging and brand visibility.
Client Engagement & Growth
Support client retention and growth through strategic communications and value-driven marketing.
Develop segmented marketing approaches for different client groups.
Analytics & Reporting
Monitor campaign performance using KPIs such as lead conversion, engagement rates, and ROI.
Track, analyse, and report on marketing performance metrics to inform continuous improvement and future planning
Use data insights to refine messaging and targeting strategies.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in marketing, Communications, or Business
7+ years of experience in strategic marketing, ideally within accounting, tax, or professional services.
Strong understanding of the Australian Public Practice Tax landscape and client expectations would be advantageous.
Proven ability to lead marketing initiatives that drive measurable business outcomes.
Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and project leadership skills.
Preferred Skills:
Previous experience in managing an effective team.
A proven track record in building and executing long-term Marketing strategies
Experience with regulatory marketing (ATO deadlines, compliance updates, etc.).
Familiarity with CRM platforms (e.g., HubSpot, Salesforce) and marketing automation tools.
Ability to translate technical tax concepts into client-friendly messaging.
Creative mindset with strong analytical and strategic thinking.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
