AHURI’s mission is to deliver high quality, policy-relevant evidence for better housing and urban outcomes. AHURI conducts and disseminates high quality research on housing, homelessness and cities issues to inform the policies and practices of governments, industry, and the community and to stimulate debate in the broader Australian community.

The organisation’s primary activity is the National Housing Research Program (NHRP) managed through a network of universities across Australia. The NHRP is funded by the Australian Government, all state and territory governments, and university partners. We also deliver the National Housing Conference, support a range of events to engage the research and policy communities, and support the development of housing research capacity. Beyond this we provide professional research services for a diversity of clients across the themes of housing, homelessness, and cities.

**The position**

The Marketing and Communications Manager leads the delivery of AHURI’s content and strategic marketing activities, including managing the organisation’s digital channels to help grow audience and engagement. The role also assists in developing and evaluating AHURI’s strategic marketing and communications direction. It plays a key role in supporting all three of the organisation’s main workstreams, including publishing NHRP research reports and promoting flagship housing and homelessness conferences and expert consulting services.

The role and its reports are part of AHURI’s Marketing and Communications Team, which comprises the organisation’s marketing, communications and events functions.

**Who we are looking for**

You are a motivated, detailed oriented team player with a commitment to providing excellent work. You are able to manage multiple internal and external stakeholders and communicate effectively to ensure the required outcomes and deadlines are met. You have an excellent understanding and experience of marketing, digital platforms and communicating complex ideas. Ideally, you have an interest in issues relating to housing, homelessness and cities.

**Key responsibilities**
- Develop and deliver marketing and communications campaigns, content and collateral.
- Manage the development and maintenance of websites and social media channels.
- Develop and manage marketing and communications reporting and analysis.
- Manage the workload and support the development of two direct reports.

**Key competencies**
- A tertiary qualification in marketing, communications or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated experience in developing, implementing and evaluating successful content and marketing campaigns.
- Demonstrated experience in leading and effectively managing the performance, output nd development of direct reports.
