The Solicitor-General is the Victorian Government's most senior legal advocate and advisor. The Solicitor-General provides advice to the government on high-level legal matters and appears in court in all jurisdictions as senior counsel on behalf of the State.
About the Role
An exciting on-going opportunity as Executive Assistant to the Solicitor-General of Victoria.
The Office of the Solicitor-General is a small office and so as Executive Assistant to the Solicitor-General, you will provide secretarial support, diary management and ensure development and maintenance of office management and information systems. As a key support to the Solicitor-General, you will ensure the smooth running of the Office and will need a confident and positive can-do attitude.
The primary work location is in the Owen Dixon Chambers at Lonsdale Street, Melbourne CBD with flexibility to work from home one day a week.
**Some of your duties will involve**:
- Providing confidential, high-level legal secretarial support to the Solicitor-General including word processing, collation and organisation of legal materials and general office and document management
- Managing the Solicitor-General's office and diary based on an on-going assessment of priorities
- Ensuring any human resources, financial, procurement and information management activities are completed in accordance with DJCS policy and procedure.
About You
To be successful in this role, strong organisational skills are essential as well as a high level of initiative, attention to detail and enthusiasm.
**We welcome applicants who have**:
- At least 5 years of experience as an Executive Assistant or Legal Secretary
- Strong verbal, communication and logístical skills
- Proven ability to provide high-level executive support and confidential services
- Strong decision-making skills
- Ability to work autonomously
- Strong typing and computer use skills, including MS Teams, PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and financial management systems.

This includes evidence of all doses of a COVID-19 vaccine required by the department (from time to time).

COVID-19 digital certificate or ATAGI exemption certificate (available via your myGov account)
- Your immunisation history statement (available via your myGov account)
Other documentation outside the above will not be accepted as evidence of having received your COVID-19 vaccine doses.
