It’s a fun and exciting time to join ING, Australia’s most recommended bank for the 3rd year running We’re on the hunt for a **Category Manager** to join our procurement team in the Sydney office. This role will be a 12 month maximum term contract.

Reporting Head of Procurement this role is accountable for the delivery of effective procurement activities that continually improve the banks methods of purchasing. You will achieve this by fostering strong relationships across the business to ensure internal and external regulatory requirements are met. You will use skilled negotiation and robust vendor management to ensure a long term supply control for the bank.

**What are you going to do? You will be**
- Developing strong working knowledge of the business unit objectives and form close ties with key category stakeholders
- Making recommendations on how to structure supplier models that provide a best-fit model for the business.
- Keeping up to date with supplier needs and strategies of the business to support.
- Acting as a central communication point with vendors through all sourcing projects.
- Maintaining up to date procurement tools for R2P and contract management
- Ensuring compliance with bank policies and procedures.

**What are we looking for? Someone who has**
- Proven experience sourcing complex services and commercial negotiations
- Full understanding of procurement life cycle
- Understanding of contractual agreements and commercial terms
- Strong communicator with excellent verbal, written negotiation and presentation skills
- Strong stakeholders management skills
- Ability to manage and influence cross-functional sourcing teams.
- Previous experience in financial services is highly desired.
