Our client an online furniture and homeware company is looking for their next Category Manager. They are looking for someone who has a passion for Interior design and home decor, who can share that passion with their customers.

**What you can expect to do**:

- You will have complete responsibility for the Buying and Merchandise Analyst teams, currently this means a total of 4 direct reports, and investing in their professional development.
- You will be working closely with the CEO and the marketing team to drive promotional strategies.
- Be able to build range, pricing, and promotions using insights, develop long-term strategies to support our business targets and develop exit strategies for unsuccessful products and activities
- for our product categories.
- Monitor revenue, gross profit and supplier contribution targets.
- Build customer centric plans based on data-driven insights into customer behaviour and trends.
- Build profitable relationships with existing suppliers and execute negotiations to secure the best pricing, sales programs, and promotional support.
- Review category performance and future ranges to proactively drive the brand's competitive edge.
- Bring along your experience working within a fast paced digital e-commerce retail environment.
- Produce forecasts for product demand to ensure the sustainability of inventory and assume responsibility for budget development and revenue for the category.

**What you’ll bring to the role**:

- Proven experience as a commercial retail Category Manager/Buyer successfully trading sizable category(s) in terms of sales and range.
- Experience working in the furniture and or homewares industries is not mandatory but would be an asset.
- Solid knowledge of category management, marketing and sales principles.
- An analytical and creative mind with planning skills and expertise
- Outstanding communication skills, working with internal and external stakeholders
- Attention to detail, calmness under pressure
- A deadline-driven, bold and resourceful style
- The ability to forge connections and build relationships
- Proven ability to successfully collaborate in cross-functional teams
- Confidence, energy and being an all-round great team player
- Proficient computer literacy in particular strong MS Excel.
- Experience working with BI tools, particularly Power BI would be an asset.
