The **Tasmanian Walking Company** are proudly Tasmanian and have been walking for over 30 years to deliver unique experiences that connect guests to some of Tasmania’s most remote, wild, and special places. We are currently on the hunt for a part-time Operations Coordinator to join our ranks, operating out of our Southern Office in Hobart.
The Operations Coordinator is tasked with supporting the Regional Experience Manager (REM) in coordinating the roster for our Wineglass Sail Walk and Three Capes Lodge Walk. You will work closely with your fellow Operations Coordinator in the south and central to make sure that we’re effectively resourcing and creating an experience that guest will remember for years to come. In addition to supporting the rostering function, you will be involved in the operations relating to our Wineglass Sail Walk and Tasman Long Weekend Walk. This includes anything from being involved in provisioning, to food preparation and the odd cleaning job.
The right individual will enjoy task variability as you move between operations to administrative functions. You will have strong communication and organisational skills, be highly motivated, and have strong attention to detail. You will be a problem-solving whiz, as you move your attention between tasks such as rostering, to supporting the REM to organise solutions to operational demands and ensuring the successful day-to-day running of the walks.
- Experience in tourism/hospitality industry (preferably as a guide)
- Strong capabilities using Microsoft Excel and Outlook
- Experience in an administrative role
- Be flexible with working arrangements as after hours and weekend work is required
- Able to operate in a close team environment
- Housekeeping experience (Desirable)
- Experience using Deputy (Desirable)
- Handyperson skills (Desirable)
The role is offered on a part-time, permanent basis, with minimum 23 hours per week guaranteed, with this likely increasing over our Walker Season (October - May). While this role is largely office-based, you will have opportunities to complete our walks.
