One of our local government clients are looking for a Customer Service Officer, ideally someone from first nations, to join their team. This will be a 12 month contract with full-time hours and commencing immediately. Reporting to the Aboriginal Development Coordinator, the Customer Service officer will be responsible support the City’s Aboriginal Development team by coordinating the operations and promotion of the Champion Centre and assisting with the coordination of related activities including community events.

Key Responsibilities:

- Coordinate the daily operations and functions.
- Monitor, sort and prioritise correspondence for the Aboriginal Development Team.
- Participate in relevant networks.
- Undertake administrative tasks pertaining to Aboriginal committees and other forums.
- Undertake administrative tasks pertaining to Aboriginal Development & Champion Centre finances.
- Provide logístical and administrative support for Aboriginal Development initiatives.
- Coordinate usage of the Champion Centre with internal and external users.
- Undertake administrative tasks pertaining to Bookings for the Champion Centre.
- Ensure all rooms are set up ready to receive the booking and confirm all rooms are in working order for the next room booking.
- Implement a digital communications plan for the Aboriginal Development Team.
- Support the Aboriginal Development Coordinator with the coordination of website and social media channels to ensure validity of content.
- Coordinate the collation and distribution of information to promote Aboriginal Development initiatives.
- Respond to social media comments and instant messages with accurate, customer-focused replies, sourced from relevant departments.
- Coordinate and assist with the creation and production of electronic digital assets, including graphics, photographs and videos.
- Play a key role in coordinating major projects such as the annual NAIDOC celebrations.
- Assist with the development and organisation of community events for the Aboriginal Development Team.
- Ability to triage quickly.
- Calm, friendly and supportive in nature.
- Ability to quickly learn centre programs.
