**The Role**
Within the Logistics Management function an APS 5 Logistics Assurance Officer is accountable under limited direction to undertake complex logistics compliance and assurance activities and tasks.

An APS 5 Logistics Assurance Officer will be required to:

- Work within a framework of legislation, established principles, work practices and procedures in accordance with Defence’s mission and business objectives.
- Undertake various logistics assurance and compliance activities involving differing, unrelated and established processes and methodologies.
- Have some authority and discretion to exercise initiative and judgement to achieve results.
- Coordinate and contribute to the work of a team consistent to a work plan and provide advice and assistance on methods of task completion to team members.
- Be a team coach or supervise a small operational team and are expected to be capable of reviewing and developing the quality of work undertaken by others within a work group.
- Engage with relevant stakeholders to identify expectations and concerns and develop a clear understanding of the issues and solutions to achieve outcomes.
- Be accountable to contribute towards ongoing self-improvement and professional development.

The Joint Logistics Unit (East) is one of Defence largest warehousing units managing approximately 14 million items.

- Have a keen eye for detail
- Perform data entry of spreadsheets and checklists for logistics governance activities.
- Have experience in stocktaking, auditing and compliance activities
- Be capable of working with a wide variety of customers and stakeholders, build and sustain effective relationships
- Manage the priorities and needs of the customers to meet and exceed their expectations
- Be able to work in a fluid environment by remaining flexible, agile and adaptable
- Work collaboratively and operate as an effective team member.
- Have a good level of computer literacy including with inventory management systems
- Be committed to ongoing self-improvement and professional development.
- Be able to interpret and comply with legislative, policy and regulatory frameworks.
