**Position Summary**
As a **Junior Buyer** at RM Williams, you will support the **Senior Buyer** in the development, assortment planning, and commercialisation of our **footwear, leathergoods, and lifestyle** categories. You will collaborate closely with stakeholders across **Design**, **Product Development**, and **Planning** to help execute the buying strategy. This role is development-focused, offering significant opportunities to build your buying expertise while contributing to the success of key product categories.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Support the **Senior Buyer** in the assortment planning and selection process, ensuring that the product range aligns with both brand and commercial goals.
- Assist in analysing sales trends, market data, competitor analysis and customer insights to inform product decisions.
- Collaborate with **Design** and **Production** teams to ensure the timely delivery and commercialisation of the product assortment.
- Work closely with **Planning** to track product performance, manage inventory levels, and identify potential opportunities or risks in the business.
- Maintain accuracy in **product master data files**, ensuring all product information is correct across business functions.
- Contribute to product presentations and buying reports to support decision-making processes.
- Take part in **cross-functional meetings** with stakeholders such as **Marketing**, **E-Commerce**, and **Supply Chain** to assist in the commercialisation of product ranges.
- Assist in identifying growth opportunities and provide input on product development strategies based on consumer trends and market needs.
- Continuously develop your knowledge of the product categories and buying processes, taking on additional responsibilities as you gain experience.
**Experience / Technical Requirements**
- Tertiary qualification in fashion, business or a related field - preferred but not essential
- Experience in a buying assistant or junior buyer role, ideally within footwear, leathergoods, or fashion
- A passion for product, with a keen interest in understanding consumer trends and product performance.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills, especially when managing product data and reporting.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across teams and build relationships with key stakeholders.
- A proactive mindset, with a willingness to learn and develop new skills in a fast-paced environment.
- Exposure to forecasting, quantifying buys, and understanding inventory management is preferred
