The Policy Integration team delivers policy solutions to benefit the Queensland community and provide advice on sustainable transport polices to support decarbonisation of the transport sector and contribute to a sustainable future. The team forms part of the Transport Policy Branch (TPB) that works collaboratively towards the delivery of policy solutions that support attainment of strategic outcomes of the government and the Department of TMR via customer engagement, policy solution design and implementation, economic analysis and consulting functions.
As an AO8 leader in Policy Integration you will be responsible for the delivery of strategic and operational policy and projects that improve TMR's response to climate change. This includes formulating and implementing solutions that reduce transport sector emissions and preparing the transport system for the effects of climate change. Specifically this relates to implementation of the Zero Net Emissions for Transport Roadmap and leading the development of a departmental Climate Change and Resilience Strategy. You will work in close partnership with other team members, collaborating with stakeholders across TMR, other government agencies, industry and the community to deliver a sustainable, single integrated transport network accessible to everyone.

**Accountabilities include**:

- Manage the development and implementation of complex strategic and operational transport projects, policy, frameworks and/or programs that provide and support the direction for the transport system in Queensland.
- Inform and coordinate the strategic positioning activities of TMR in response to emerging customer requirements and local, state and national transport system policy and issues.
- Provide authoritative advice on transport system priorities, policy and challenges related to shaping a sustainable and efficient transport system and other emerging transport policy issues to the Minister, ministerial staff and executive management.
- Prepare timely and well researched cabinet submissions, briefs and/or policy documents on transport system priorities, policy and challenges in a faced paced environment.
- Lead engagement activity within and outside the Transport Policy Branch to position the Departments activities and ensure that policy and programs remains coordinated with, and highly relevant to, decisions facing our stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain effective partnerships with stakeholders across the department, government, industry and community in relation to the achievement of strategic transport system priorities.
- Represent the department as required in relation to organisational and local, state and national transport issues and policies.
- Lead and participate in project teams, comprising internal and external resources to develop and implement strategic transport policy and projects within agreed quality, cost and time parameters.
- Manage a team, including the coordination of a broad range of policy and project tasks and activities, and day-to-day resourcing requirements.
- Create a positive work environment that supports continuous improvement. - Actively participate in performance conversations to build and support a culture of performance improvement.

This role reports to the Director, Policy Integration and has three direct reports.
