In the role of Advisor (Policy Integration) you will deliver strategic policy, projects, frameworks and programs that provide direction for the development of the transport system in Queensland. This role specifically focuses on improving the transport sector capacity to respond to climate change, including planning and contributing to system plans to reduce transport sector emissions and creating a resilient transport system.

**Accountabilities include**:

- Contribute to the identification of strategic transport policy options and undertake projects and/or program activities to assist in development of policies to support the future direction for the transport system in Queensland.
- Demonstrate effective written, oral and interpersonal communication skills including the ability to clearly and concisely analyse and express ideas and issues. Organise work within agreed timeframes and with minimum supervision.
- Assist in the preparation of correspondence, reports, briefing notes, submissions, speech notes, ministerial briefs and statements, estimates briefs and website content and other correspondence in accordance with departmental standards.
- Contribute to strategic positioning activities of Transport and Main Roads' in relation to emerging customer requirements, and local, state and national transport system issues and challenges.
- Undertake research and analysis in relation to emerging issues, risks and challenges confronting the transport system including those associated with climate change and other emerging transport policy issues.
- Provide advice on transport system priorities, policy and challenges including the transition to electric vehicles and use of hydrogen.
- Liaise and negotiate with stakeholders across government and industry in relation to strategic transport system priorities.
- Contribute to and support project teams, comprising internal and external stakeholders, in relation to the development and implementation of strategic transport policy and projects.
- Prepare or contribute to the preparation of timely and well researched policy documents, briefs and/or submissions.
- Actively participate in performance conversations to build and support a culture of continuous improvement.

This position reports to the Manager (Policy Integration).
