We have delivered more than 3 million experiences to date and continue to play the lead role in the tourism and experiences industry. In the time it takes you to read this ad, we would have delivered around 50 more experiences to happy customers.
We are now looking for a Sales & Distribution Director to join the group and lead our commercial partnerships and major distribution channels. Reporting into the CEO and sitting in the Senior Leadership Team for the group, you will for the first time pull our distribution products, local agent business, international inbound teams, retail offerings, platforms and businesses into one thriving sales & distribution function.
The role will require deep sales and commercial experience in the travel, tours and activities space and ideally a travel and saas based sales background. You will work in partnership with our CMO and Marketing Director on go to market plans, and our CTO on the delivering the platforms needed to quickly scale these offerings.
Taking full ownership of the distribution strategy, budget and revenue the role will see you build and scale. Finding new wholesale, distribution and retail sales opportunities and channels to distribute our experiences to market, driving market and revenue share.
Its an exciting role for an inspiring Sales leader, within a supportive Leadership Team and flexible business to own a full function within the group.
**Core Activities**:
- Responsible for the overall strategic planning and execution of short and long-term distribution strategies
- In market sales activity, major partnerships and commercial negotiations
- Forming and optimising team, resourcing, process, systems, incentives and technology requirements to deliver strategic outcomes for the group.
- Fostering team spirit, building a cohesive high performing new function.
- Identify growth opportunities for the business and enable commercial improvements
- Drive the team to successfully implement strategic account plans and provide insights to them
- Develop both short
- and long-term sales roadmaps and priorities in collaboration with marketing and other key stakeholders
- Identify and execute cross-market opportunities to drive market and revenue share
- Partner with retail and wholesale providers, developing sales and marketing strategies to penetrate new markets, including the capitalisation of existing relationships.
- Support team with the review and renegotiation of major agreements
- Acquire and develop strategic partnerships with online travel agents, travel aggregators and other key industry partners
- Act as a trusted advisor to the business, represent the company externally and be a magnet for talent and opportunities
- Foster collaboration between the Sales and Distribution team and other internal teams
- With a National team of 15 in place you will be comfortable to travel and work across ANZ.
**Experience Required**:
- 10+ years' experience in sales leadership within the travel and tourism industry is highly desirable
- A genuine interest and passion to be part of a growth business, selling experiences as its purpose
- A leader people want to work for and with, can coach and grow teams for their and the business benefit
- Experience within a structured organisation, deliveirng to scaleable strategic growth
- Deep technology understanding
- Experience in designing and building teams
- A strategic thinker with great analytical skills, comfortable working with Salesforce, Tableau, BI and Finance for data driven planning and performance
- Have a strong focus on developing and sustaining collaborative and productive relationships
- Experience in building, leading and nurturing a team, providing a supportive and open environment for them to grow and develop
- Thrive in a fast-paced, growing and dynamic environment where agility and collaboration is key
