**About the role**
National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) has a unique opportunity for an Asset Management Officer to work as part of the Visitor Infrastructure team in the Assets & Infrastructure Branch. This role will be a trusted advisor across all operational branches within NPWS, contributing to the asset management maturity and capacity of the organisation, and ensuring that public assets are effectively managed and utilised to achieve government and organisational outcomes.
In this role you will also support the implementation of effective asset management processes, practices and systems whilst providing advice and guidance to support strategic programs for the life cycle management of existing and future assets. Your expertise will be invaluable in safeguarding the organisation's assets, optimising costs, and maintaining compliance with accounting and regulatory standards and policies.
**About you**
To be successful in this role you will be a natural collaborator working between operational teams in a similar role responsible for managing and integrating asset lifecycle activities by balancing cost, risk and performance to meet government objectives. You will be relied upon to produce asset data and information that supports decision-making and continual improvement. You will be strategic and tactical minded whilst being comfortable being a support lead for the development of asset management plans for major assets classes and the use and development of the corporate asset management information systems to improve the quality of data and consistent use.
**Required Knowledge and Experience**
- Demonstrated experience in asset management and the use of asset management systems.
- Demonstrated understanding of financial and/or accounting principles to assets and their lifecycle management.
- Demonstrated experience in the administration, monitoring and reporting of complex asset management projects.
**Essential requirements**
- A current Australian drivers licence.
