About the Role

The City of Palmerston is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Finance and Payroll Operations Manager to join our team. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for the operation of finance functions that contribute to the delivery of the City of Palmerston Community Plan.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage Council's payroll and accounts payable functions, ensuring timely and accurate processing, review, and reconciliation.
  • Process, review, and reconcile Council's account payables functions, maintaining the integrity of financial information.
  • Oversee the timely processing, review, and reconciliations within payroll and accounts payable, ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure compliance with policies and legislation related to payroll and accounts payable.
Requirements
  • Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance, Business, or other relevant disciplines combined with at least five years' finance experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in payroll and accounts payable operations, with at least three years in a supervisory role.
  • Ability to interpret and apply policies and legislation related to payroll and accounts payable.
  • Proven experience in payroll processes and related regulatory requirements.
  • Proven ability to contribute to an innovative and positive working environment that motivates and supports people to achieve high levels of performance.
  • Proven organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines within a dynamic environment.
  • A focus on achieving customer-centric results, with an ability to contribute to specific goals and objectives.
