Senior Spatial Information Officer

The Senior Spatial Information Officer is a key position within the Department of Natural Resources and Environment Tasmania, responsible for producing high-quality outputs and providing authoritative advice on standard series and specialist map production, design, GIS, and application development activities.
This role involves working with a diverse range of software, from GIS to graphic arts, to produce digital and hardcopy maps. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing projects from inception to completion and implementation, while collaborating closely with data managers, maintenance, and client services areas.

Key Responsibilities- Produce high-quality outputs and provide authoritative advice on standard series and specialist map production, design, GIS, and application development activities.
- Develop projects from inception to completion and implementation, while collaborating closely with data managers, maintenance, and client services areas.
- Work with a diverse range of software, from GIS to graphic arts, to produce digital and hardcopy maps.
- Collaborate with data managers, maintenance, and client services areas to ensure seamless project delivery.
An Advanced/Associate Diploma in Applied Science, or equivalent level, in a Spatial Sciences related discipline, as provided by either a university, a vocational education organisation or a registered and accredited training provider.
Or extensive demonstrated experience, eight years or more, working directly in the field of Mapping and GIS providing high quality outputs.
