The Senior Spatial Information Officer is a key position within the Department of Natural Resources and Environment Tasmania, responsible for producing high-quality outputs and providing authoritative advice, services, and solutions related to standard series and specialist map production, design, GIS, and application development activities.
Key Responsibilities- Produce high-quality digital and hardcopy maps using a range of software from GIS to graphic arts.
- Develop projects from inception to completion and implementation, working closely with data managers, maintenance, and client services areas.
- Access a diverse range of datasets and software to deliver innovative solutions.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely delivery of mapping products.
- An Advanced/Associate Diploma in Applied Science, or equivalent level, in a Spatial Sciences related discipline.
- Or extensive demonstrated experience, eight years or more, working directly in the field of Mapping and GIS providing high-quality outputs.
