About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Spatial Information Officer to join our team at the Department of Natural Resources and Environment Tasmania. As a key member of our mapping service, you will be responsible for producing high-quality cartographic products and providing authoritative advice on standard series and specialist map production, design, GIS, and application development activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Produce high-quality outputs and provide expert advice on spatial information management
  • Develop and implement GIS and application development activities
  • Collaborate with data managers, maintenance, and client services areas to deliver projects from inception to completion
  • Work with a diverse range of software from GIS to graphic arts to produce digital and hardcopy maps

Requirements
  • An Advanced/Associate Diploma in Applied Science, or equivalent level, in a Spatial Sciences related discipline
  • Or extensive demonstrated experience, eight years or more, working directly in the field of Mapping and GIS providing high quality outputs
