About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Spatial Information Officer to join our team at the Tasmania Government. As a key member of our department, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality cartographic products and providing expert advice on spatial information management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and maintain a wide range of spatial datasets, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
  • Develop and implement projects from inception to completion, working closely with data managers, maintenance, and client services areas.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and address spatial information needs, providing innovative solutions and expert advice.
  • Harness your curiosity and drive innovation, developing new projects and initiatives to enhance our spatial information capabilities.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require an Advanced/Associate Diploma in Applied Science, or equivalent level, in a Spatial Sciences related discipline, or extensive demonstrated experience (eight years or more) working directly in the field of Mapping and GIS providing high quality outputs.

You will also need to be able to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
