Bushfire Spatial Information Officer

Join the Department of Police, Fire and Emergency Management TAS as a Bushfire Spatial Information Officer and contribute to the development of strategic risk mitigation strategies at a whole-of-state level.
About the Role:The successful candidate will provide GIS and desktop mapping support to the Bushfire Risk Unit, investigating, coordinating, developing, implementing, and refining operational systems and procedures for data acquisition, data integration, data maintenance, and operational response.
Key Responsibilities:- Investigate and coordinate operational systems and procedures for data acquisition, data integration, data maintenance, and operational response.
- Develop and implement strategic risk mitigation strategies at a whole-of-state level.
- Provide GIS and desktop mapping support to the Bushfire Risk Unit.
- Work in accordance with the values of Tasmanian Fire Services to serve the community.
A Diploma or Advanced Diploma in Geographic Information Science or equivalent level, relevant to the nature of the work to be undertaken, as provided by either a university, a vocational education organisation or a registered and accredited training provider.
