About the Role

Whitehaven Coal, a leading player in Australia's emerging high-quality coal basin, seeks a Senior Payroll Officer to join its Newcastle office. As part of our close-knit team, you will play a vital role in coordinating employee remuneration, ensuring accurate and timely payment.

Responsibilities
  • Calculate and pay monthly and weekly wages for employees under various enterprise agreements and salaried staff.
  • Process payroll transactions, guaranteeing regular payment of full entitlements to all employees.
  • Conduct monthly reconciliations as required.
  • Onboard new employees, setting up their records accurately.
  • Manage leave forms and maintain precise employee data.
  • Stay updated on relevant Awards, Enterprise Bargaining Agreements, and Acts affecting payroll in the Coal Industry.
  • Provide insights and analysis to the broader business as needed.
Requirements
  • Proven experience as a Senior Payroll Officer in a large organization.
  • Familiarity with enterprise agreements.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Effective time management and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Pulse software and Dayforce software expertise (desired).
  • Certificate III or IV in Financial Services - Accounts Clerical (desired).
