This role presents an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact and shape the future of energy in Australia. You'll lead in planning, forecasting, and reporting on the $300m operating expenditure for our Customer business unit, providing expert guidance and resolving queries to drive financial performance and efficiency.
About the Role
- You will provide financial advice and direction, ensuring the integrity of financial results and key operational metrics.
- Deliver deep insights into drivers of monthly results against budgets, forecasts and expectations (variance analysis) to the business and finance teams.
- Identify and monitor key financial and operational metrics to enable timely and proactive responses to identified trends.
- Work with the business units to establish annual budgets and forecasts with key assumptions rationalised, clearly articulated and endorsed by business owners.
- Provide financial and commercial due diligence, tracking, and reporting of investments.
- Review and challenge initiatives within the business unit to ensure that business decisions are made with a clear understanding of likely financial outcomes.
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators with a clear linkage between operational and financial business performance.
Requirements
- Tertiary qualifications in accounting, finance, economics or another relevant quantitative degree (minimum).
- Postgraduate qualifications in accounting and/or finance holding current CA/CPA qualifications.
- A minimum of 6+ years' experience in a similar related finance role.
- Previous experience in energy or a similar environment (i.e. telco, insurance, banking).
- Experience in influencing/challenging the business to drive results.
- A high degree of commercial acumen and strategic approach to accounting.
