A dynamic opportunity exists for a Consultant Psychiatrist to join our multidisciplinary team at Austin Health. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in linking emergency services with our ICYMHS service and general Consultation Liaison services.
Key Responsibilities- Provide leadership and clinical governance to front-end services for children and youth at Austin's Mental Health Division.
- Interface with the Consultant Psychiatrist Liaison to the Emergency Department.
- Contribute to a multidisciplinary team of passionate, experienced, supportive, and collaborative mental health professionals.
- Be a registered Medical Practitioner with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- Hold a Fellowship of the Royal Australian & New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP), or equivalent.
- Hold a current Working with Children Check (WWC Check) in compliance with the Working with Children Act 2005.
- Have an interest in access, frontline assessment, and Liaison Psychiatry settings.
- Have an interest in child and youth mental health.
- Demonstrate a commitment to high-quality patient care.
- Demonstrate a commitment to working as a team member with peer medical, junior medical, nursing, and other clinical staff to provide efficient, safe, and quality care across the continuum.
- Demonstrate a commitment to teaching, training, and research.
