  • Join a multidisciplinary team of highly passionate and collaborative mental health professionals
  • Permanent part time (28 hours per week) fractional opportunity available from October 2024

Austin Health is the major provider of tertiary health services, health professional education and research across three campuses in the north-east of Melbourne and state-wide. We have a highly engaged, diverse and collaborative workforce that is unified by our goal to help people live healthy and fulfilled lives.

About the services

Infant Child and Youth Mental Health Service (ICYMHS)

ICYMHS is part of the Mental Health division at Austin Health. Multiple teams provide specialised service to the north-eastern catchment of Melbourne (local government areas of Banyule, Nillumbik, Darebin, Whittlesea, Yarra and Boroondara). Young people eligible for the service are 0 to 25 years in line with Royal Commission recommendations.

Marian Drummond Adolescent Unit

The Marian Drummond Adolescent Unit (Inpatient Service for teenagers 13-17 years) is an 11-bed unit, which provides assessment and treatment to teenagers who require more intensive treatment than can be offered in an outpatient setting. The unit has a dynamic and caring staff focusing on helping adolescents and their families at times of crisis and need. The unit has a catchment area covering the six local government areas serviced by Austin Health’s ICYMHS, as well as rural areas serviced by Bendigo ICYMHS and Mildura CAMHS.

Specialist Eating Disorders Service (SEDS)

SEDS is a multidisciplinary clinical team that is responsible for direct provision of specialised eating disorders care in outpatient settings including intake, triage, waitlist management, assessment and treatment, in partnership with regional community ICYMHS teams. SEDS provides clinical support and guidance to ICYMHS case managers for eating disorders cases, as well as liaising with acute medical and mental health inpatient staff to support treatment and discharge planning for consumers admitted to inpatient units. The SEDS team leads coordination of eating disorders care, including case reviews, the eating disorders registry and service-level monitoring and evaluation.
