Clinical Leader for Child and Youth Mental Health Services

About the Role:
Austin Health is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to lead the Infant Child and Youth Mental Health Service (ICYMHS). As the Clinical Leader, you will provide leadership and clinical governance to the front-end services for children and youth in the Mental Health Division at Austin Health.
About the Service:
ICYMHS is part of the Mental Health division at Austin Health, providing specialized services to the north-eastern catchment of Melbourne. The service caters to young people aged 0-25 years, in line with Royal Commission recommendations.
About the Opportunity:
This is a permanent part-time opportunity, with 10.5 hours per week, available from October 2024. As the Consultant Psychiatrist, you will play a pivotal role in linking the ICYMHS service with general Consultation Psychiatrist Liaison services at Austin Health to the Emergency Department.
About You:
To be successful in this role, you must:
- Be a registered Medical Practitioner in Australia with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
- Hold a Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists or equivalent postgraduate specialist qualification
- Hold a RANZCP Certificate of Advanced Training in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, or equivalent. Psychiatrists with significant experience in Youth Psychiatry will be considered for the role focused on young people aged 12-25 years
- Have an interest in access, frontline assessment, and Liaison Psychiatry settings
- Demonstrate a commitment to high-quality patient care
- Demonstrate a commitment to working as a team member with peer medical, junior medical, nursing, and other clinical staff to provide efficient, safe, and quality care across the continuum
- Demonstrate a commitment to teaching, training, and research
