Consultant Psychiatrist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to join our team in the Adolescent Inpatient Psychiatry Unit and Eating Disorders Service. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide comprehensive and high-quality psychiatric services to young consumers and their families or support networks.
Key Responsibilities- Provide evidence-based psychiatric services to young consumers and their families or support networks in the Inpatient and Specialist Eating Disorders Service Teams.
- Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team of mental health professionals to provide efficient, safe, and quality care across the continuum.
- Develop and implement treatment plans that address the complex needs of young consumers and their families or support networks.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures that promote best practice in psychiatric care.
- Participate in education and training programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of junior medical staff and other healthcare professionals.
To be successful in this role, you must:
- Be a registered Medical Practitioner in Australia with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- Hold a Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists or equivalent postgraduate specialist qualification.
- Hold a RANZCP Certificate of Advanced Training in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, or equivalent. Psychiatrists with significant experience in Youth Psychiatry will be considered for the role focused on young people aged 12-25 years.
- Demonstrate a commitment to high-quality patient care and a commitment to working as a team member with peer medical, junior medical, nursing, and other clinical staff.
- Demonstrate a commitment to teaching, training, and research.
