Head of Business Development and Growth

As the Head of Business Development at Virgin Australia, you will be responsible for leading our Corporate Business Development initiatives, driving the development of medium and long-term strategies for our corporate acquisition and partner portfolios.
Key Responsibilities- Corporate Acquisition and Partnership Development: Lead the development of strategic partnerships and acquisitions to expand Virgin Australia's corporate market share.
- Sales Performance and Strategy: Drive sales performance within a matrix organisation, developing and implementing sales strategies to achieve business objectives.
- Relationship Building and Management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with key TMC partners, corporate clients, and airline partners to maximise revenue potential.
- Customer Management and Retention: Oversee the timely and accurate management of corporate customer records, ensuring excellent customer service and retention.
- Commercial Bidding and Negotiation: Develop detailed, partner-specific commercial bids to secure large corporate acquisitions, and negotiate contracts to achieve business objectives.
- Tactical and Programmatic Initiatives: Design and implement tactical and programmatic initiatives to deliver accretive value for Virgin Australia.
- Team Leadership and Management: Lead and manage a team of sales professionals, providing guidance, coaching, and development opportunities to ensure team success.
- Minimum 10 years sales leadership / B2B business development experience
- Significant knowledge of contract negotiation and Acquisition tender processes (new business)
- Exceptional negotiation skills and the ability to engage at the most senior levels within Corporate partners
- Proven extensive network of Corporate & travel contacts and ability to build and develop strong relationships at an Executive level
- Outstanding knowledge of the Australian Corporate travel (B2B) market
- Prior experience in developing detailed business plans that deliver positive ROI
