About the Role

As the Head of Business Development at Virgin Australia, you will be responsible for leading our Corporate Business Development initiatives, driving the development of medium and long-term strategies for our corporate acquisition and partner portfolios.

Key Responsibilities
  • Corporate Acquisition and Partnership Development: Lead the development of strategic partnerships and acquisitions to expand Virgin Australia's corporate market share.
  • Sales Performance and Strategy: Drive sales performance within a matrix organisation, developing and implementing sales strategies to achieve business objectives.
  • Relationship Building and Management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with key TMC partners, corporate clients, and airline partners to maximise revenue potential.
  • Customer Management and Retention: Oversee the timely and accurate management of corporate customer records, ensuring excellent customer service and retention.
  • Commercial Bidding and Negotiation: Develop detailed, partner-specific commercial bids to secure large corporate acquisitions, and negotiate contracts to achieve business objectives.
  • Tactical and Programmatic Initiatives: Design and implement tactical and programmatic initiatives to deliver accretive value for Virgin Australia.
  • Team Leadership and Management: Lead and manage a team of sales professionals, providing guidance, coaching, and development opportunities to ensure team success.
Requirements
  • Minimum 10 years sales leadership / B2B business development experience
  • Significant knowledge of contract negotiation and Acquisition tender processes (new business)
  • Exceptional negotiation skills and the ability to engage at the most senior levels within Corporate partners
  • Proven extensive network of Corporate & travel contacts and ability to build and develop strong relationships at an Executive level
  • Outstanding knowledge of the Australian Corporate travel (B2B) market
  • Prior experience in developing detailed business plans that deliver positive ROI
