**Healthcare Support Specialist Role

The role of Healthcare Support Specialist involves providing efficient and effective administration services to a medical workforce unit. The position is responsible for coordinating education, rostering, and onboarding for junior medical officers (JMOs).

  • Coordinating education, rostering, and onboarding processes ensures that JMOs are properly supported and equipped to deliver high-quality clinical services.
  • Maintaining daily rosters, including sick leave, overtime, and annual leave cover, ensures that the workload is evenly distributed and that staff are able to take necessary breaks.

**Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinating education, rostering, and onboarding processes for JMOs, ensuring that they are properly supported and equipped to deliver high-quality clinical services.

• Maintaining daily rosters, including sick leave, overtime, and annual leave cover, to ensure that the workload is evenly distributed and that staff are able to take necessary breaks.

• Providing administrative support, preparing reports, newsletters, correspondence, meeting papers, and audits.

• Assisting with junior and senior medical staff enquiries, orientation, and wellbeing by providing timely advice, support, and guidance as appropriate.

• Maintaining comprehensive knowledge of relevant industrial awards, legislative requirements, and policies and procedures at a local, district, and state level.

• Contribute to the overall strategic direction of the unit, and achievement of key performance indicators, planning, and implementation as required.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Relevant tertiary qualifications and strong interpersonal skills are essential for this role. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and experience in using complex electronic/software systems are also highly desirable.
