We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Controller to join our team in NSW. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for financial reporting and performance management of our sites.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance, with experience working within the logistics industry (warehousing). You will have expertise with Excel and Performance Management Tools, as well as excellent stakeholder management skills and attention to detail.

Job Description

The Site (Warehouse) Financial Controller is responsible for:

  • Guiding the Delivery organisation on proactively managing operational risks
  • Monitoring and driving actions to ensure PnL reflects accurate gross profit at the country, entity, product and customer level
  • Reviewing Controls related to profitability and identifying root cause leading to control ineffectiveness
  • Reviewing revenue billed and accrued vs estimated revenue and deep diving into any abnormal incidents

Key Responsibilities

  1. Control and Risk Management: Ensure operational risks are managed proactively, and guardrails are created to protect the organization against revenue leakages.
  2. Financial Profitability: Monitor and drive actions to ensure PnL reflects accurate gross profit at the country, entity, product, and customer level.
  3. Operational Risk Management: Review controls related to profitability, identify root causes leading to control ineffectiveness, and drive mitigation plans together with business functions.
  4. Cost and Billing Accuracy: Review revenue billed and accrued versus estimated revenue and deep dive into any abnormal incidents.
  5. Business Transformational Projects: Review effectiveness of new platforms/process rollouts, conduct onsite reviews, and provide recommendations to address local gaps.
  6. Customer Implementation Support: Review compliance of customer implementations as per corporate governance, policy, and procedure.

Requirements

  • A graduate qualification in Accounting or equivalent professional qualification such as CA/CPA
  • 2-5 years' experience in a Finance Analyst role or similar capacity
  • Previous experience working within the logistics industry (warehousing)
  • Expertise with Excel and Performance Management Tools (e.g., PowerBI)
  • Experience with SAP and automation tools (e.g., PowerQuery) would be advantageous
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and attention to detail, as well as ability to bridge the gap between operations and finance

Salary Information

The salary range for this position is AUD $90,000 - $110,000 per annum, depending on experience.

Working Conditions

This role requires 3 days of onsite work per week, supporting 3 sites in NSW (Moorebank, Marsden Park, and Kemps Creek).
