About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Financial Controller to work alongside our Financial team in Sydney. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing financial planning and analysis, budgeting, and forecasting for our Eastern Distributor & Cross City Tunnel transport contract.

  • Assist with the preparation of general journals, month-end reporting, and Balance Sheet reconciliations.
  • Prepare financial reports with analysis and maintain a clean and compliant Balance Sheet.
  • Assist with accounts payable, including general purchasing activities in Ariba and SAP.
  • Report on the debtors ledger and work to minimize ageing.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Planning and Analysis:

  • Preparation of financial reports, including the Balance Sheet and Profit and Loss Statement.
  • Assist with the preparation of the monthly billing template and associated invoice to the client.

Budgeting and Forecasting:

  • Preparation of budget and forecast for each quarter.
  • Loading prepared forecast to financial system, ensuring the P/L, B/S, and Cash Flow Statement align with forecast.

Accounts Payable:

  • Assist with general purchasing activities in Ariba and SAP, including vendor setup and reconciliation of vendor payments.
  • Maintain healthy accounts payable practices, Ariba compliance, and monitor goods receipting and invoice receipting.

What's required:

  • 1-2 years experience in Financial Planning and Analysis roles.
  • CA/CPA highly preferred or working towards.
  • Advanced working knowledge of SAP is required, someone who has worked in a finance module.
  • High attention to detail.
