Senior Financial Accountant

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Financial Accountant to join our team. This role is responsible for owning all aspects of financial accounting and statutory reporting, working closely with various teams at Zip.

About the Role

This position is part of the Financial Control function, focusing on statutory reporting for the Group, including driving process and system improvements, as well as being responsible for the Half Year review and Year end audit, Group Financial Statements, Group Financial Control, various ASX lodgements, and delivering service to various internal and external stakeholders.

You will partner with ANZ and USA Financial Control, FP&A teams, Tax, Treasury, and other teams to ensure the integrity of the financial systems and deliver timely and accurate results to stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and perform the Group month-end close process.
  • Ensure integrity and control of the Group Consolidation and General Ledger.
  • Support reporting processes and deliver timely and accurate information to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Manage the group audit and half-year review process of the Group and local statutory audits, including preparation of statutory financial statements.
  • Manage and support debt compliance in the Group, where applicable.
  • Ensure support for work performed with the FP&A, Treasury, and Tax teams.
  • Assist the wider finance team, where applicable.
  • Support the budgeting and forecasting process.
  • Produce analysis and insights for senior management, including the global exec team and the Board, as required.
  • Provide information and assistance to Investor Relations, including Quarterly, half-year, and annual reporting processes and contribution to the investor presentations, ASX releases, and other ad-hoc queries.
  • Help define, adopt, and implement consistent group processes and policies that drive continuous improvement and control of these processes. Ensure quality documentation of processes.
  • Work on and lead finance system and process improvement projects.
  • Provide ad-hoc support and analysis, as required.
  • Monitor and develop your team, ensuring development in technical and soft skills.
  • Manage and run finance training for your team and the wider finance team.
  • Work with the business to ensure controls in processes and timely and accurate information flows to finance.
  • Write and review memos for accounting issues, business issues, and items for Board and Committee considerations.
  • Lead and support banking and payments processes.
About You

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • 8+ years of relevant finance and accounting experience.
  • CA/CPA qualified.
  • Experience working in financial control.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and an ever-changing environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including asynchronous working with stakeholders from remote/international teams.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Experience in process and system improvement.
  • Desire to continually improve, including challenging the status quo and making changes to internal control processes.
  • Good relationship skills, with the ability to use both to build consensus and action across our business.

We offer a competitive salary of $150,000 - $180,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus a range of benefits, including:
