Employee Relations Specialist Role

As a trusted advisor to our People & Culture team and leaders, you will provide expert, compliant, and pragmatic ER/IR advice that supports both people and performance. Your work will directly influence how we build a future-focused, people-first organisation.

This specialist role is responsible for providing compliant and trusted Employee Relations/Industrial Relations recommendations and advice to P&C, IAG leaders and their teams. You will ensure our people can perform at their best through ensuring a safe and inclusive place to work supported by fit-for-purpose policies and procedures.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing employee relations advice, ideally in a commercial organisation of significant complexity and/or across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Translating complex and technical employee relations issues into pragmatic and plain language solutions.
  • Advising on the people components of business transactions and projects.
  • Working autonomously and proactively, as well as part of a high performing team.
  • Anticipating employee relations issues and taking an active approach resolving them.
  • Challenging and influencing stakeholders.
  • Coaching and upskilling leaders and HR practitioners in employee relations issues.
  • Keeping abreast of changes in external environment and translating into internal environment.
  • Collaborating across whole of function and broader group to reach common approach.
  • Mediation and settlement expertise.

Requirements for this role include 5-8+ years ER or employment law experience and experience at a leading global or ASX top 50 company.
