Child Protection Specialist

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to make a difference in the lives of children and families. As a Child Protection Specialist, you will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality, culturally appropriate child protection services.

You will support colleagues in delivering statutory child protection services within a strengths-based framework. Your expertise will be instrumental in ensuring the safety and well-being of children, while also empowering families to take control of their lives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement effective strategies to recruit, assess, and provide advice, education, and support to foster and kinship carers.
  • Engage with current and potential foster and kinship carers to support them in their roles as carers and their engagement with child protection services.
  • Work collaboratively with stakeholders, children, and parents to establish and strengthen safety networks.
  • Provide comprehensive casework support and advice to inform decisions about child safety and protective needs.
  • Contribute to a culture of continuous learning, training, and professional development to ensure contemporary practice knowledge and skills.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
  • Knowledge of child protection legislation and policies.
