**Desktop Support Specialist Role Summary:**

About the Job:

  • Triage, assist, and resolve service desk requests using our service desk platform to ensure seamless support for staff members.
  • Maintain accurate hardware and service tracking through the Service Desk platform to guarantee efficient operations.
  • Create, onboard, and manage user accounts and attributes to ensure secure access and smooth onboarding processes.
  • Provide assistance with conferencing and audio-visual hardware support to enhance collaboration and productivity.
  • Deliver general training and onboarding for staff on ICT systems to promote knowledge sharing and best practices.
  • Image, configure, and deploy hardware, including mobile devices, within the region to meet the evolving needs of the organization.
  • Collaborate with vendors for hardware repair and warranty matters to ensure timely resolution and cost-effectiveness.
  • Assist staff with approved software installations to streamline workflow and boost efficiency.
  • Maintain professional competence and use expertise to provide reliable advice and troubleshooting services.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for internal and client infrastructure/systems to facilitate knowledge transfer and consistency.

Requirements for Success:

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Proficiency with IT support ticketing and remote access systems to efficiently manage support requests.
  • Experience with Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) and Mobile Device Management System (Intune) to effectively deploy and manage hardware and software.
  • Familiarity with SharePoint and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) to leverage existing tools and collaborate seamlessly.
  • Tertiary qualification in an IT-related discipline is preferred to underpin technical expertise.
  • Minimum one year of experience in a similar desktop support role to demonstrate a track record of success.
  • Preferable experience with management software in a corporate environment within the construction industry to understand industry-specific requirements.
  • Understanding of core networking principles (TCP/IP, routing, DHCP, DNS, etc.) to ensure effective network operations.
  • Demonstrable success in customer support and software implementation to drive business outcomes.
  • In-depth knowledge of desktop hardware to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues efficiently.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to engage with stakeholders and provide clear guidance.
  • Quick learner with the ability to adapt to new systems to stay up-to-date with emerging technologies.
  • Excellent analysis, coordination, and problem-solving skills to navigate complex challenges.
