Residential Youth Worker Opportunity

Anglicare Victoria is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Residential Youth Worker to join our team. As a Residential Youth Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting young people in care, providing a stable and nurturing environment, and helping them to overcome challenges related to past trauma.

About the Role

This is a varied and rewarding role that requires a strong understanding of child and youth development, as well as experience working with young people who have experienced significant trauma. You will work as part of a large team, supported by colleagues, team leaders, and an extensive support structure at Anglicare Victoria.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide individualized support to young people in care, addressing their physical, emotional, and psychological needs.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans, in collaboration with the young person, their family, and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Work collaboratively with other team members to ensure a safe and supportive environment for all young people.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance your skills and knowledge in working with young people who have experienced trauma.

Requirements
  • Certificate IV in Child, Youth and Family Intervention or similar.
  • Experience working with young people who have experienced significant trauma.
  • Strong understanding of child and youth development, as well as the Child Protection and Welfare system in Victoria.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and collaborative communication skills.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to work in a busy and dynamic program.
