Residential Youth Worker Opportunity

Anglicare Victoria is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Residential Youth Worker to join our team in supporting young people in care.

About the Role

As a Residential Youth Worker, you will be part of a large team supporting young people in a residential care setting. Your role will involve creating a stable, nurturing, and safe home environment, as well as supporting young people who may have challenges with expressing emotion and dealing with day-to-day life.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support young people in care to develop life skills and achieve their goals
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, team leaders, and external agencies to provide comprehensive support to young people
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans to meet the unique needs of each young person
  • Provide emotional support and guidance to young people, promoting their emotional well-being and resilience
  • Contribute to a safe and healthy living environment, adhering to Anglicare Victoria's policies and procedures

Requirements

  • Certificate IV in Child, Youth and Family Intervention or similar (top-up training may be required)
  • Experience working with young people who have experienced significant trauma
  • Understanding of how trauma can affect the development of young people
  • Solid understanding of the Child Protection and Welfare system in Victoria
  • Excellent written, verbal, and collaborative communication skills
  • Flexibility and adaptability to work in a busy and dynamic program
  • Empathy with Anglicare Victoria's values and mission
