About the Role

Anglicare Victoria is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Residential Youth Worker to join our team. As a Residential Youth Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting young people in care, providing a stable and nurturing environment, and helping them to overcome challenges related to past trauma.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work in a large team to support young people in care, providing individualized support and care
  • Develop and implement care plans to meet the unique needs of each young person
  • Collaborate with colleagues, team leaders, and external agencies to ensure comprehensive support for young people
  • Provide emotional support and guidance to young people, helping them to manage their emotions and develop coping strategies
  • Contribute to a safe and supportive living environment, promoting the physical and emotional well-being of young people

Requirements

  • Certificate IV in Child, Youth and Family Intervention or similar (top-up training may be required)
  • Experience working with young people who have experienced significant trauma
  • Understanding of how trauma can affect the development of young people
  • Solid understanding of the Child Protection and Welfare system in Victoria
  • Excellent written, verbal, and collaborative communication skills
  • Flexibility and adaptability to work in a busy and dynamic program
  • Empathy with Anglicare Victoria's values and mission
