We are seeking a dedicated Residential Youth Care Worker to provide therapeutic care and support to our Young People in our residential houses located across the Geelong area.

As a Residential Youth Care Worker at MacKillop Family Services, you will work collaboratively to provide a safe and nurturing home for Young People and be passionate about their wellbeing. Your role will involve responding to Young People's emotional and functional needs, supporting the development of their personal skills, undertaking household duties such as cleaning, and engaging in administrative tasks such as updating reports and records.

While previous experience working with Young People is preferred, we encourage individuals without prior experience who are passionate about making a difference in Young People's lives to apply.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Certificate IV in Child, Youth and Family Intervention (Residential and Out of Home Care) or other similar or relevant tertiary qualifications.
  • A genuine interest in Young People and their wellbeing.
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to engage well with Young People.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other staff and professionals.
  • A demonstrated understanding of, and respect for cultural and linguistic background, including a commitment to cultural safety.

Requirements:

  • Valid and current Driver's Licence;
  • Satisfactory Criminal History Check (paid for by MacKillop);
  • Valid Employee Working with Children Check;
  • Valid and current NDIS Workers Screening Check (MacKillop can assist successful candidates with their application).
