About the Role

As a Residential Youth Care Specialist at Anglicare Victoria, you will be part of a large team supporting young people in care. This is a varied role that requires creating a stable, nurturing, and safe home environment, as well as supporting young people who may have challenges with expressing emotion and dealing with day-to-day life due to past trauma.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support young people in care, providing a stable and nurturing environment
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, team leaders, and support structures to ensure the best possible outcomes for young people
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans to meet the unique needs of each young person
  • Provide emotional support and guidance to young people, helping them to manage their emotions and develop coping strategies
  • Work closely with other agencies and services to ensure a comprehensive and coordinated approach to care

Requirements

  • Certificate IV in Child, Youth and Family Intervention or similar qualification
  • Experience working with young people who have experienced trauma
  • Understanding of the Child Protection and Welfare system in Victoria
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Flexibility and adaptability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
