Job Opportunity at Pullman Sydney Olympic Park

We are seeking a highly skilled Demi Chef to join our team at Bacar, a contemporary dining restaurant located at the Pullman Sydney Olympic Park.

The successful candidate will have a strong passion for food preparation and presentation, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality cuisine.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the head chef in managing the kitchen operations to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Prepare mise en place for all relevant menus to maintain consistency and quality standards.
  • Ensure that all dishes meet the hotel's high quality standards, adhering to strict stock rotation and minimizing waste.
  • Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to achieve exceptional results and maintain a clean and safe working environment.
  • Comply with all relevant health, safety, and food legislation to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by ensuring that guest feedback is addressed and communicated to the team effectively.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 1 year of experience as a Demi Chef in a hotel or restaurant with high food quality standards.
  • Ability to operate various kitchen equipment and practice sound cooking techniques.
  • Completion of a Chef Apprenticeship or a Certificate in commercial cookery.
  • Good food hygiene and safety knowledge, including safe and accurate knife skills.
  • Knowledge and experience in a variety of different cooking methods.
  • Availability to work varied shifts, including early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
