We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Executive Chef Assistant to join our team at The Cut, an elegant basement steakhouse and bar in the heart of Sydney's historic Rocks neighborhood.

About the Role

This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated and organized individual to take on a leadership role in our kitchen. As Executive Chef Assistant, you will be responsible for assisting the Head Chef in managing the daily operations of the kitchen, ensuring that all dishes are prepared to the highest standards, and maintaining a clean and safe working environment.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience as a Junior Sous Chef in a premium or fine dining restaurant, with a strong focus on maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards in the kitchen. You will also have excellent leadership and team player skills, with the ability to train and develop talented culinary individuals who will be the future leaders within the business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Head Chef in managing the daily operations of the kitchen, including menu planning, inventory management, and staff supervision.
  • Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, and safety, ensuring that all dishes meet the company's expectations.
  • Develop and implement new recipes and menus, working closely with the Head Chef and other members of the kitchen team.
  • Train and mentor junior chefs, providing guidance and support to help them develop their skills and confidence.
  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, adhering to health and safety regulations and company policies.
Requirements
  • Previous experience as a Junior Sous Chef in a premium or fine dining restaurant.
  • Strong focus on maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards in the kitchen.
  • Excellent leadership and team player skills, with the ability to train and develop talented culinary individuals.
  • Knowledge of Food Safety standards and WHS regulations.
