Overview

We offer a competitive salary of $60,000 - $80,000 per annum, based on qualifications and experience. This role is perfect for someone who is passionate about gastronomy and has a strong desire to learn and grow in their career.

Job Description

The Executive Pastry Chef Assistant will be responsible for assisting the Senior Chefs and other Managers from different departments in maintaining good communication levels and following basic guidelines and manners. They will also assist in setting up stations for breakfast, lunch, or dinner, and preparing, cooking, and executing plated desserts for different F&B outlets within Sofitel Sydney Darling Harbour.

The ideal candidate will have a qualification in Commercial Cookery and 1-2 years of experience in a similar role. They must possess strong communication skills, a professional appearance, and the ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

In addition, they should have a working understanding of food safety standards and HACCP, and a genuine passion for gastronomy. The successful candidate will be accountable for maintaining high standards of hygiene and cleanliness in the kitchen, and adhering to Emergency Communication procedures.
