Settlements Manager

The Settlements Manager plays a pivotal role in driving the efficient and effective handling of claims within the Settlements department. This position provides strategic leadership to team leaders and their respective teams, directly impacting claim cost outcomes.

These teams comprise technical senior motor claims consultants responsible for claims management and negotiating favorable settlements with insurers, representatives, and other parties involved in the claim. Ensuring compliance with relevant compliance and regulatory obligations is a critical aspect of this role. The Settlements Manager analyzes claim data and trends to develop key insights and identify areas for improvement.

Key responsibilities include leading the Settlements claims management teams, implementing strategies to streamline the claims settlement process, and improving efficiency. Establishing negotiation strategies and implementing them to support business claim cost outcomes is crucial to contributing to the overall success of the Third Party Recoveries & Settlements business.

Requirements:

  • 5 years of experience in a leadership role in the insurance industry or similar.
  • Strong working knowledge of motor insurance claims management relative to applicable legislation, processes, and industry best practices.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Exceptional communication (both verbal and written) and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with various stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively engage, influence, and develop others.
  • High-level conceptual, analytical, and problem-solving skills and the ability to develop innovative solutions.
  • High-level project management experience, i.e., the ability to deliver results within agreed timeframes.
