RF Engineer Position

About the Job:

This is a challenging role that involves coordinating satellite earth station operations, including large tracking antennas, RF/microwave electronics, and monitoring software. You will be responsible for maintaining diverse RF systems by working directly with vendors or leading them to perform tasks while documenting incidents. Additionally, you will lead projects related to these systems and work closely with various stakeholders.

  • Coordinate with on-site vendors during installation of RF Devices.
  • Remotely work with external vendor remote hands support on all troubleshooting, resolution, and improvement activities.
  • Dissect complex issues requiring schematics, automated data, and other resources to find and resolve problems.
  • Manage or provide support for projects associated with maintaining gateway networks.
  • Provide afterhours and weekend on-call supporting the AU systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Respond to alarms and document issue and resolution in the ticketing system.
  • Work with vendors on incident documentation and project management.

Requirements:

  • Associate Degree or equivalent in RF Communications.
  • At least 5 years experience running gateway uplink antenna systems, earth stations, or applicable projects/programs.
  • Experience maintaining Satellite or Terrestrial Microwave Earth Stations.
  • Knowledge of RF test equipment such as Spectrum analyzer Signal Generator.
  • Ability to mentor and lead individuals in the RF space.
  • Ability to perform 24x7 On-Call support on a rotating basis.
  • Ability to lift 11.3 kg.
  • Ability to travel up to 25%.
  • Legally authorized to work in Australia.

Benefits:

  • Working knowledge of IP encryption devices, Ka/Ku band RF equipment, tracking antennas, and communications theory is desirable.
  • Experience with Monitor and Control System software.
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Project Management skills.
  • Network system support and troubleshooting experience is a plus.
  • Experience working in ticketing systems.
