**Job Title:** RF Communications Specialist
">We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated RF Communications Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our satellite earth station network.
The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating satellite earth station operations, including tracking antennas, RF/microwave electronics, and monitor and control system software. You will also maintain diverse RF systems through direct work or leading vendors on how to do the work while maintaining documentation associated with incidents. Additionally, you will lead projects on the systems and have the ability to communicate with a diverse group of vendors over a wide geographical area.
Key Responsibilities:- Respond to alarms and document issues and resolutions in ticketing systems.
- Work remotely with external vendors on troubleshooting, resolution, and improvement activities.
- Coordinate with on-site vendors during installations of RF devices.
- Create, update, and maintain gateway-related method and procedure (M&P) and runbook documentation.
- Dissect complex issues requiring the use of schematics, automated data, and other resources to find and resolve issues.
- Manage or provide support for projects associated with maintaining diverse gateway networks.
- Provide after-hours and weekend on-call support for AU systems.
- 2-year associate degree or equivalent related to RF communications.
- 5+ years of experience running gateway uplink antenna systems, earth stations, or applicable projects or programs.
- Experience maintaining satellite or terrestrial microwave earth stations.
- Experience using RF test equipment such as spectrum analyzers and signal generators.
- Experience mentoring and leading individuals in the RF space.
- Ability to perform 24x7 on-call support on a rotating basis.
- Ability to lift 25 kg.
- Ability to travel up to 25%.
- Legally authorized to work in Australia.
- Working knowledge of IP encryption devices, Ka/Ku band RF equipment, tracking antennas, and communications theory is a plus.
- Experience with monitor and control system software.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Project management skills.
- Network system support and troubleshooting experience is a plus.
- Experience working in ticketing systems.
