Are you looking for a challenging role that involves working with satellite earth station operations?

This position requires coordinating tracking antennas, RF/microwave electronics and monitor and control system software. You will be responsible for maintaining diverse RF systems through direct work or leading vendors on how to do the work while maintaining documentation associated with incidents along with leading projects on the systems.

The ideal candidate will have excellent problem solving and analytical skills, project management skills and experience working in ticketing systems. Additionally, knowledge of IP encryption devices, Ka/Ku band RF equipment, tracking antennas and communications theory would be beneficial.

  • Respond to alarms and document the issue and resolution in the ticketing system.
  • Remotely work with external vendor remote hands support on all troubleshooting, resolution, and improvement activities.
  • Coordinate with on-site Vendors as they install RF Devices.
  • Create, update, and maintain gateway related Method & Procedure (M&P) and Runbook documentation utilized by teammates.
  • Dissect complex issues that require you to bring together schematics, automated data and many other resources to find and resolve the issue.
  • Manage or provide support for projects associated to maintaining a diverse setup of gateway networks.
  • Provide afterhours and weekend on-call support for the AU systems.

Requirements:

  • 2 year Associate Degree or equivalent related to RF Communications.
  • 5+ years experience running gateway uplink antenna systems, earth stations or running applicable projects or programs.
  • Experience maintaining Satellite or Terrestrial Microwave Earth Stations.
  • Experience using RF test equipment such as a Spectrum analyzer Signal Generator.
  • Experience mentoring and leading individuals in the RF space.
  • Ability to perform 24x7 On-Call support on a rotating basis.
  • Ability to lift 11.3 kg.
  • Ability to travel up to 25%.
  • Legally authorized to work in Australia.
