We are seeking an experienced People & Culture leader to oversee the delivery of Pulse's People Strategy, for a 12 month period covering parental leave.

This is an exciting opportunity to work for a genuinely fun organisation, with the ability to make impactful change. You will be an integral part of our senior executive leadership team, building on and delivering our people strategy in alignment with Pulse's goals and our values of Agility, Community, Quality, Support and Play.

You will apply your technical expertise and your leadership experience to provide guidance and advice to Pulse's management team and staff. Ideally, you'll have experience in all facets of employee relations, performance and talent management, employee engagement, learning and development, health and safety, HR systems, change management, reward and recognition, payroll and reporting.

You will support a team of 5 HR professionals – made up of Business Partners, Payroll and a P&C Administrator. The team are engaged and agile, and keen to make a difference and support their business areas.

Some of the key deliverables during the 12 month period include negotiating multiple enterprise agreements, launching a new HRIS, promoting Pulse's new internal reward and recognition program and embedding a new performance framework. Alongside this, you will manage the day to day operations of the team and ensure Pulse's HR compliance and reporting obligations are met.

Key Responsibilities:

  • A relationship builder who is keen to invest time into understanding Pulse and our team, and applying that knowledge to delivering on our people strategy and goals.
  • A proactive leader with a positive attitude, who takes accountability and is able to problem solve efficiently and effectively, in line with a best practice approach.
  • Confidence in your understanding of managing complex people related matters in all facets of HR.
  • Someone who is eager and excited to get involved in all Pulse has to offer. We're lucky to have the opportunity to engage in a variety of activities and events in the work we do, and would love to have a passionate individual who is willing to come along. These activities and events occasionally occur outside of work hours.

Requirements:

  • Experience in managing and mentoring a team to achieve their goals.
  • Strong technical knowledge in all facets of HR, with a willingness to learn and evolve with legislation and best practice approaches.
  • A supportive and approachable leadership style, that extends to the whole organisation.
  • Solid understanding of the Australian employment landscape, including the Fair Work Act 2009 and other relevant HR legislation.
  • Tertiary education and/or relevant industry experience in a HR leadership position.
  • Experience in leading and managing people for at least 2 years.

We Offer:

  • A progressive thinking and passionate workplace with a vibrant and dynamic P&C team who genuinely care about Pulse staff and want to support them.
  • An attractive remuneration package – including free parking on campus and a free UniActive gold gym membership.
  • The opportunity to truly develop and innovate a workplace culture.
  • A breadth of industry exposure across retail, hospitality, administration, early education and care, allied health, sport and fitness.
