We are seeking a skilled professional to fill the role of Staff Specialist in Thoracic Medicine.
This is an excellent opportunity for a thoracic physician who has a passion for clinical excellence, teaching and research into airway disease.
The successful applicant will have considerable experience in General Thoracic Medicine with a major interest in airway disease. Expertise in the assessment and management of airway disease is required and skill in interventional bronchoscopy is recommended.
Clinical duties include responsibility for admitted patients, timely early morning ward rounds and post on-call rounds, working with a multidisciplinary team to facilitate early safe discharges, and participation in the general thoracic on-call roster.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in the development, implementation, and audit of agreed management protocols and models of care consistent with international best practice standards across all areas within the Department.
- Undertake two outpatient clinics weekly, including one Airway Clinic and one General Thoracic Clinic.
- Possess TSANZ accreditation in pleural ultrasound and experience in supervising and teaching trainees in pleural ultrasonography and procedures.
